Western Colorado University invites applications for the position of Athletic Operations and Facilities Coordinator.
The position reports directly to the Athletic Director and is responsible for supervising, coordinating and managing all home events, special events, and athletic facilities.
Duties:This position provides leadership while coordinating, implementing and supervising game day and facility operations and special events. This entails coordinating home events setup, management, and cleanup/break down from start to finish. Supervision and training of event management assistants and student workers, facility scheduling and sustaining a culture of sportsmanship. Home event management includes an emphasis on ticket/gate operations and concessions oversight. The position will also assist with scheduling and management of officials for home athletic events. Coordination with visiting team arrivals and practice times. Requires additional work with athletic contests/game promotions and activities with community outreach. Required to work evenings and weekends.
This person shall contribute to the effective team management of all relevant problems, issues and opportunities. This job description shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the above duties. Dependent upon qualifications and experience the Athletic Operations and Facilities Coordinator may also complete additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics as needed to maintain operations and services.
Qualifications:Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field. Ability to support significant evening and weekend work. Professional attitude, excellent customer service, able to work with cross-functional teams and to foster teamwork, proven verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skill, self-direction, and initiative necessary. A current valid driver's license is required
Preferred: Minimum of at least one year in athletic events and/or facility management at the collegiate level

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
