Western State Colorado University invites applications for the position of Special Programs Coordinator. The position reports to the Director of LEAD & Orientation and will work primarily to support student activities & campus-wide programming.
Duties:The Special Programs Coordinator primary focus is to support student activities and programs through the LEAD Office. Position will be responsible for advising both Program Council and Inter-Club Council, both subcommittees of Student Government Association (SGA). Other work duties will include planning campus-wide events such as the All Campus BBQs, Family Weekend and Senior Reception. This position will also serve a key role in supporting and delivering New Student Orientation programs in both fall & spring. Position will also support other functions within the LEAD Office, such as administering the Westerners in Transition Program and Daniels Fund scholars. Position may also hire and supervise student employees, as needed. This position will require extensive evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. Communication and leadership skills. Event planning & coordination. Must be willing to work extensive weekends and evenings and travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in marketing (including social media), communications, public relations, higher education, and graphic design. Experience working with college students and/or with student development related programming.
Additional Application Information:Compensation: $34,000 per year; eligible for complete benefits package (health, dental, vision and life insurance; retirement; 20 days' paid vacation/year. Undergraduate tuition benefits for employee and dependents after one year of employment.)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
