Robert Half Finance is seeking Controller candidates who have a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting and clerical department, for a Controller role we are filling with a fun and exciting hospitality company on the western side of the state. This Controller role's duties will require planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. A controller with a knack for cross departmental collaboration, and an ability and comfort wearing many hats, will thrive in this role. Leading with integrity and reliability, and having the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services will be essential for this Controller role. This Controller position is for a creative team player with a talent for challenging the status quo, coming up with unique ideas, negotiating and influencing. Controllers with a CPA, and experience in the Hospitality industry, are highly preferred. Key responsibilities - Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction - Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis - Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports - Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll - Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation - Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required - Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual - Handle monthly and yearly close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations G/L analysis - Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals - Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies - Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
- Ability to meet deadlines - Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required - CPA or MBA preferred - Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued - Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred - Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel - Financial analysis experience - Good understanding of inventory analysis - Quality experience with cost reduction analysis - Skills in inventory planning reporting - Financial reconciliation experience - Deep understanding of Oracle Financials - Well-founded grasp of financial statement preparation - Experience with budget forecasting - Salesforce.com experience desired - Previous experience working with inventory management - General familiarity with financial statements consolidation - Knowledge of Oracle - Comprehension of budgeting - Proven knowledge of financial reporting - Earlier work involving inventory - Wide ranging experience with cost estimations - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field - Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills - Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations - Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis - Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
