Medical Technologist
Currently seeking a Medical Technologist (Evening Shift) in the western area of Colorado.
The ideal candidate will be Performs various clinical laboratory tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases by following procedures and operating equipment as directed The responsibilities of the Medical Technologist include:
Performs various clinical laboratory tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases by following procedures and operating equipment as directed.
Performs and records test results, quality control and performs preventative maintenance on instruments.
As needed, the MT will help prepare tissue for the pathologist.
Requirements of the Medical Technologist:
Completion of Medical Technology Program approved by the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI).
or Three years of academic studies at an accredited college and completion of 12 consecutive months of internship in an accredited school of Medical Technology, leading to a Bachelor's Degree.
A Bachelor's Degree In Laboratory Science is REQUIRED for this position.
The MT must have completed internship in an accredited school of Medical Technology.
The MT must have comprehensive knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques and instrumentation and the ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and judgment while performing routine and emergency procedures.
ASCP board certified or equivalent, or qualified through examination by the Health, Education and Welfare accreditation program.
Maintenance of current CPR or BLS.
A minimum of one year of experience required This is an evening shift position working 32 hrs per week which is considered full time.
The job does require 2 nights of on-call responsibility per pay period, paid at $2/hr, and some weekends as needed.
